"Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." (James 1:27)
We all begin as "Orphans" though we all began as His. Jesus promised He would not leave any who trust in Him as orphans, just because He lives
"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. (John 14:18-19)
As many of us who live with Him now are beholden by Grace to visit upon all who would hear the good news of our Christ.
"For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God" (Romans 8:15-16)
All widows are those without a Husband. Jesus is able to restore what death has taken from His Bride. So then what's our part in 'Pure religion'? To become matchmakers and make ourselves ready for Him.
"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, "These are true words of God." (Revelation 19:7-9)
