Listen, Go, and Do.

And the Lord said to him, "Get up and go to the street called Straight, and
inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is
praying." (Acts 9:11)

Connecting The Dots - Virtual Week 9 (Thanksgiving)

Connecting The Dots (Virtual) Week 9

             “Thanksgiving

Key Verse(s):

A Psalm for Thanksgiving.

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”

(Psalms 100)

 It’s easy to say “I’m thankful” and it’s a fairly natural thing to “be thankful” for whatever in our lives seems good or profitable at the moment. But it’s not always easy to remain thankful on a level that sees beyond happenstance, that knows pure Joy beyond the fretful din of this world and says with confidence “I will yet praise Him” (Psalms 42:11)

In fact, Jesus promised that in the world we would have trouble because He knew our frailty, though even in this He also promised and reminded us to be encouraged because He knew The Truth; He had overcome the world in all its brokenness (John 16:33). Our strength is in our frailty (2 Corinthians 12:9), our confidence is not in those things that are seen, but in those things that are unseen (2 Corinthians 4:18, Hebrews 11:1). So no matter where these times find you remember you have in Jesus Christ a Hope that never fails (1 Peter 1:3-4) and a kingdom that cannot be shakenwhich is more real than the air we breathe, and more firm than the ground on which we now stand (Hebrews 12:22, 28).

Ten Reasons to be Thankful:

The Creator of all things is our help. (Psalms 46:1)
God is our strength, our shield, our deliverer and our Salvation (Psalms 18:2)
Jesus Christ is our Victory! (1 Corinthians 15:56-57)
God is our rescuer and Jesus is our redeemer(Colossians 1:13-14)
The Holy Spirit is always with us and God always sees us! (Psalms 139:12-17)
God always keeps His promises to us (2 Corinthians 1:20)
God always hears us and always listens (Psalms 10:17)
God always answers even if we forget how to ask.(Isaiah 65:24)
God’s light always shines over us and on us(1 Peter 2:9)
Jesus Christ is our friend, our comforter and our peace. (John 15:15, John 14:16-17, Ephesians 2:14)

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

(Isaiah 60:1)
